Frequently asked questions
Enter and apply a HEX, RGB, or HSL value. Use the selected color for text or background to compare contrast, then save a palette.
Inputs are color codes or local images. Outputs are HEX, RGB, HSL codes and WCAG contrast ratios. For example, #245BD6 converts to RGB 36, 91, 214.
How are transparent pixels sampled?
The RGB color is composited against white. The original alpha value is not included in the resulting color code.
Does passing contrast mean my design is accessible?
No. Contrast is only one aspect of accessibility. Also review text size, keyboard access, information structure, and other requirements.
Image headers are checked before decoding. Only still images are supported; animation and nonstandard headers that cannot be verified within 1MiB are rejected.
